Foster to Adopt

Lutheran Community Services is looking for families (individuals, married couples, same sex couples) who are able to offer a permanent commitment to a child. LCS places children 0-17 who are in need of foster a or adoptive home. LCS believes each child should only have one foster care placement during the time they are in care. If reunification with birth family is not possible, adoption by the same foster family becomes the primary plan. We call this “Concurrent Planning,” and LCS was one of the first agencies in the country to develop such a program. All our case workers have a caseload of 10 children or fewer. It is our goal to support families by offering pre-service training on site and having one social worker support your family through training, licensing, placement and adoption. We offer intensive support and expertise throughout the process.

Low sliding scale fees are a priority at LCS. We believe that you are providing a valuable service to a child and the community and do not want fees to be a barrier to any family. LCS works primarily with families in King and Snohomish Counties. LCS does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, nationality, or sexual orientation.
